Reviving Porsche Perfection

Porsche has steadily maintained a reputation as one of the most coveted automotive manufacturers over the past half century. Every vehicle they’ve produced has had the utmost quality and performance, but after almost 30 years of life, this example was showing its age. The customer wanted this Carrera dialed and ‘as perfect as we could get it’. Step one was removing the dry, cracked and expired factory PPF from the quarter panels, but the adhesive had unfortunately left its mark on the paint and led to a necessary repaint of the area.

After the paintwork concluded, we moved onto the remaining steps of the restoration. We re-applied the quarter panel PPF using Xpel Ultimate Plus to keep the classic Porsche wide hips protected for years. A long-needed exterior detail was able to clear off all of the built up brake dust on the wheels, making them look like new once again. The in-depth paint correction cleared off years of oxidation on the single-stage Guards Red, bringing back the showroom shine.

When the canvas was finally ready, we laid our CeramicPro Coating across the whole vehicle. This was the final piece to the puzzle, taking this already beautifully restored Carrera from an 8/10 to a 10/10. Pulling it outside for the first time after our work was concluded, you would not be remiss to think it had been in a private collection for years. It had been transformed from a well-driven classic to a pristine collectors piece (save for the odometer, of course.)

This was a big job to tackle but our team couldn’t be happier with the outcome. The night-and-day difference was recognized by everyone and all the techs who were involved did a slap-up job.
